Kashmir, The name that defines many things like conflicts between India, Pakistan and China. But apart of this conflicts Kashmir has many more things that defines many things. Let’s explore Kashmir. Jammu is the winter capital of Kashmir and Srinagar is the summer capital of Kashmir. The word Kashmir has Sanskrit origin. The word Kashmir “Ka” means water and “Shmeer” means dessicated land. According to myth, Kashmir was formely a Lake. Kashmir is called “Paradise On Earth” because its scenic beauty is unparalled. The majestic Pir Panjal mountains, verdant meadows, pristine rivers, lakes, streams and apple orchards contribute to its beauty.

Kashmir is famous for its natural beauty and its picturesque locations. While Jammu is known for its temples and pilgrimage spots. Kashmir is famous for Dal Lake, Mughal Garden and many other places to visit. Kashmir has a composite culture. It is an amalgamation of Hindu, Sikh and Muslims. They all live in peace and harmony together. A vast majority Buddhist population lives in Ladakh. Kashmir’s is blessed by nature’s beauty, Gulmarg is the most popular Ski destination in India. Amarnath Cave in Jammu and Kashmir has natural Shiv Lingam made of ice. It is a hindu pilgrimage destination. Vaishno Devi is is also located in Jammu, Katra.

The culture of Kashmir refers to the culture and traditions of Kashmir. The people of Kashmir are commonly known as the Kashmiri pandits. The culture of Kashmiris is based on dance, music, festivals, food habits and literature influence their lifestyle of people. The costume of the Kashmiris is usually they wear a long gown called pheran. Both men and women wear this. During the winters they especially wear this. Pheran called their traditional dress. The Kashmiris are known for their handicrafts. The Kashmiri carpets and shawls are famous across the world. Carpets are usually hand knotted is made of wool and silk. The kashmiri shawls usually made of wool or soft pashmina wool.

The Kashmiri food is famous for it’s rice and they served with meat. Almost Kashmiri people made non-veg. These types of food you will found in Kashmir. There are many food joints located near the lake.
