
In the Indian ocean over a thousand miles from the southeastern coast of Africa is the gorgeous island of Mauritius. Mauritius is full of wonderful sandy beaches, coral reefs, forested mountains and beautiful national parks and gardens. Mauritius is also known as island city. Mauritius itself is encircled by a broken ring of mountain ranges composed of extinct volcanoes, streams waterfalls and rivers all covered in forests. Its surrounding lagoons are protected from the open sea by the world’s third largest coral reef, which surrounds the island.
The warmest months are January and February. The coolest months are July and August. The best months to visit are from May through December. The absence of territorial animals on the island allowed for the evolution of flightless birds and large reptiles in Mauritius, such as the four million year old relative of the pigeon called the Dodo. Mauritius cuisine is a combination of Creole, French, Chinese and Indian influences spices are an important part of all dishes.

1: ILE AUX CERFS, MAURITIUS

Ile Aux Cerfs island is also known as “Deer Island” it’s a private island located near the east coast of Mauritius. There aren’t any deer left here, but it remains a hugely popular tourist spot for its beautiful beaches, lagoons and wide variety of activities and facilities. The white sand beaches and crystal clear waters are ideal for water activities such as parasailing, driving, snorkeling and underwater walking.
2: BLACK RIVER GORGES NATIONAL PARK

The Black River Gorges National Park is the sanctuary for the diversified wildlife and tropical rainforests. It is located on the highlands of champagne plain in the south-western part of Mauritius. The climate is the park varies on moving from the eastern side to the west from damp rainy forestland to relatively much drier low lands.
3: SEVEN COLOURED EARTHS OF CHANAREL

While Mauritius is mostly renowned for its jaw-dropping beaches the island is home to a visit whit a variety of other geographical phenomena that you will not find anywhere else across the world. It is located in Chamarel, the seven-coloured Earth is famous all over the globe for being an incredibly inique geological formation.
